The Community of Serootia is a titanic, genial nation, ruled by Dana Perx with a fair hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls, multi-spousal wedding ceremonies, and keen interest in outer space. The compassionate, democratic population of 18.436 billion Serootians love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Doxe. The average income tax rate is 95.3%.

The frighteningly efficient Serootian economy, worth a remarkable 2,251 trillion Dacs a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism and Book Publishing. Average income is an impressive 122,126 Dacs, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

They say that Serootians made a dessert and called it peace, pre-takeoff checks last longer than the flights themselves, photographers can be found hiding behind the curtains in Dana Perx's bedroom, and endangered bison are herded across the border to prevent them from trampling on native prairie grass. Crime is totally unknown. Serootia's national animal is the Fennec Fox, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Serootia is ranked 4,157^th in the world and 1^st in Devia for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring 88.04 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
