The Dictatorship of Thogor is a huge, orderly nation, remarkable for its zero percent divorce rate, ubiquitous missile silos, and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 783 million Thogorites are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 68.5%.

The sizeable but inefficient Thogorian economy, worth 39.8 trillion Cenolas a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Woodchip Exports, and Basket Weaving. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 50,855 Cenolas, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 188,227 per year while the poor average 9,677, a ratio of 19.4 to 1.

Adult magazines are having a sales resurgence as internet anonymity disappears, it's usual for grandparents to stay in the family home with their descendants but younger children are often frightened of them, athletes are renowned for being the best at maths, and wedding bands come in pairs to form wedding manacles. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Thogor's national animal is the Dragon.

Thogor is ranked 67,341st in the world and 10th in Solstice for Most Cultured, scoring 69 on the Snufflebottom-Wiggendum Pentatonic Scale.
