The Colony of Tinea is a mammoth, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its irreverence towards religion and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 8.013 billion Tineans are proud of their wide-ranging civil freedoms, and those who aren't tend to be dragged off the streets by men in dark suits and hustled into cars with tinted windows.

The relatively small, liberal, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. The average income tax rate is 13.2%.

The Tinean economy, worth 374 trillion dollars a year, is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Trout Farming, Woodchip Exports, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is 46,733 dollars, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.6 times as much as the poorest.

Tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, and glamping Tineans won't sleep in a tent that doesn't include a Jacuzzi. Crime is a problem. Tinea's national animal is the squirrel, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Tinea is ranked 204,756^th in the world and 4^th in Enigma for Least Corrupt Governments, with 92.19 percentage of bribes refused.
