The Queendom of Yela is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its irreverence towards religion. The democratic population of 2.566 billion Yelans love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The large, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Education, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 36.4%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Yelan economy, worth 66.7 trillion rubles a year, is quite specialized and led by the Basket Weaving industry, with major contributions from Beef-Based Agriculture, Retail, and Gambling. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 25,980 rubles, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes, tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, and farting etiquette is taught in schools. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Yela's national animal is the parrot, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Yela is ranked 209,883^rd in the world and 2^nd in Cole for Highest Unexpected Death Rate, scoring 30.59 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
