The Empire of Ylyandar is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates. The democratic population of 29.483 billion Ylyandarians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 58.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The large but underdeveloped Ylyandarian economy, worth 708 trillion Yins a year, is highly specialized and led by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Pizza Delivery, Cheese Exports, and Tourism. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 24,016 Yins, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Gambling is outlawed, military funding has been stripped back, tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, and organ donation is compulsory. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ylyandar's national animal is the tiger, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Ylyandar is ranked 153,965^th in the world and 5^th in Avalon for Largest Cheese Export Sector, scoring 1,963.2 on the Mozzarella Productivity Index.
