I won't do what you tell me!
Seriously though, I come on here when I need a break from the calculations. I was thinking of writing a "guide to the region" dispatch. We would have to get the government details worked out first, of course.

That they are, and there is no right answer.
And hey, what better place to lay out your troubles than your NS region? We're practically family by now!

The recent embassy request has been denied. The Illuminati seems to be making requests to every region in the game for the sole purposes of collecting the most embassies. We even have an embassy section on our forum--if they had made the effort to post there, I may have considered it.
My thoughts on positions so far:
Founder
Gameside and forum admin
First line of defense against invasion and spam
WA Delegate
Elected by game mechanics
Full executive authority
Representative to WA and primary ruler
Forum moderator
Vice Delegate
Elected by forum vote
Regional officer with full authority
Second-in-command, becomes first in absence of Delegate
Forum moderator
PR Officer
Elected by forum vote
Regional officer with embassy and communications authority
In charge of public image, inter-regional affairs, potentially recruiting (TBD)
Forum moderator
Each official, once elected, has full discretion over their duties. I think that gives a greater incentive to run and get a position, when you know you are not going to be micromanaged and you will actually get to make decisions. This is all open to change and suggestions, of course.
I'm happy to be here at Conch Kingdom, it seems like a very nice region.

I'd like to think so too, welcome!
I just want to avoid a situation where the forum controls the government and people who have not joined are not represented. That sort of thing happens a lot in the feeders. Maybe we could do it via regional poll. There is a setting to restrict it to only members who have been in the region for a while. Meanwhile, the campaigns could still be located offsite, visible to everyone.
how to you get territory?

Pretty much the only way is to roleplay it. There is an excellent, if long, guide to roleplaying here. In terms of your nation in the game, your population will grow by a couple million every day.
This is actually a big part of the reason I wanted a delegate and vice delegate. The delegate is the game-elected WA representative regardless of whatever structure we set up, but the vice delegate is appointed by myself or the delegate (by game limitations), so an election mechanism has to be set up for that position. That means the delegate can be elected by only WA members, and the vice delegate can balance out the government by giving the non-WA members a representative with full power (minus WA voting).
Pretty confused now, can someone give me a briefing of what is going on?
Since the region is so new, not everything is in place yet. There are no laws, no election procedures, no existing government. Now that some people are moving here, we need to set up some kind of system to keep the region running smoothly. It will take a little work, but the good news is, the door is wide open. If you want to be the WA Delegate of Conch Kingdom, which is the highest elected position in the region, all you have to do is join the WA and start up a campaign to get people to endorse you. You are all foundation members, having moved here in the first few days of the region's existence, and the leadership positions are open for the taking.
Other than that, I hope to get some activity going here. That means discussions on NS and real life happenings, roleplays, and whatever else we can think of. A lot of that happens onsite, of course, but I hope to spread some of it over to the forum as well (/shamelessplug) (/butseriouslysignup). Let's get the ball rolling!
Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, i am 18 and can vote woowee.

Wow, this will take some getting used to.
Hello my friends. I have just joined and I am glad to be here. As I am a highly politically thinking individual in real life, at some point I would like to apply to the position of our WA representative. Thank you all.
