Fact #3: Tamora is very diverse in terms of ethnicity and religion. The largest ethnicity is Parthian (RL Persian) with 35% and the largest religion, Manism( a religion native to Tamora), has 48%. It is a legacy of Tamora's expansionist history and its feudal system that allows its component regions large autonomy especially when it comes to religion and culture.

Quintelia and The huetlatoloyan

The huetlatoloyan

Fun Fact #2: The national government of the Huetlatoloyan has, by law, no right to levy taxes of any kind outside of the capital city. Instead, the government must forward requests for funding to the six constituent kingdoms of the country for approval/denial/edits. The national government of the Huetlatoloyan is chronically underfunded.

Ok, that is very cool.

The huetlatoloyan

Fact #4: Tamora has mandatory military service for men. Around 30 percent of men serve in the military with the rest being granted religious and medical exemptions. The overwhelming majority of those who serve belong to Manist religion and tend to be ethnic Parthians.

Thanks! I'd planned on the country being a very loose set of very autonomous kingdoms from the start, so I actually looked to the USA's Articles of Confederation for some inspiration. And when I saw that that's how it had operated, I just knew I had to use that idea for the Huetlatoloyan.

The huetlatoloyan

Fun Fact #3: The Head of State of the Huetlatoloyan is not a single individual, rather it is a council of all six regional Kings. The kings typically do not attend personally, instead choosing a representative to attend on their behalf and speak with their authority on matters. Any decisions that must be approved by the Head of State require the unanimous acceptance of all six Kings (or their representatives).

Yes. People forget that really it ought to be the United Stateses. You can blame Amendment 17 in part.

Fact 5: Almost half of Tamoran women wear the hijab though there are no laws mandating it.

I like federations/confederations with component states retaining much of their sovereignty. I look forward to seeing more of Huetlatoloyan.

Is there a trend that people share fun facts? Cause I want to.

Fun Fact #1: All recreational drugs that you can think of (tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, meth, ketamine, etc.) are legal in Quintelia! The production of such drugs, however, is heavily regulated as to not be deadly. Still, around 600,000 people die in Quintelia annually due to ODing, driving under influence, and through other health complications. There are almost many rehabilitation centers as there are "drug cafes" in Quintelia thanks to King Lapu's social health programs.

This message was brought to you by the Department of Tourism of Quintelia: It's more fun in Quintelia!

Yes, feel free to share.

The huetlatoloyan

Fun Fact #4: The practice of religious human sacrifice is still legal in the interior kingdoms of the nation, and actively practiced. There are a variety of different forms, but despite the surface brutality of them the sacrifices are given a cocktail of drugs beforehand so that the process does not incur any undue suffering. Sacrifices are typically chosen from those that are willing, with the curious phenomenon that the Temple extends an open offering to foreigners who wish to die but cannot (whether they are suicidal or terminally ill in a nation in which euthanasia is illegal) to come to the country and be sacrificed. The coastal kingdoms officially ban the practice (having replaced it entirely with non-lethal blood offerings) however it is still known to occur illegally, especially in times of national disaster.

Drugs are actually legal in Pandect too, although moral consensus is that you're stupid to take them. Drugs are priced very cheaply and are available from government-partnered pharmacies. This ensures the purity of the product. The small amount of taxation on it goes directly towards rehabilitation costs.

Freedom to choose, usurps the usual desire to outlaw and prohibit them. It also doesn't hurt that drug-related crimes dropped massively once the initiative was created.

Fact #6: The most valuable Tamoran company is Kadyrov Industries (arms manufacturing). They representing much of the Tamoran military industrial complex and build almost all of the Tamoran military equipment except for ships and submarines. The Kadyrovs are also the richest businessmen in Tamora. You can find more about them here:

Quintelia

You should keep an eye on those regulations of yours. Wouldn't want anything bad to happen to your arms manufacturing industry again eh‽

Statum ecclesiasticum

Fact #7: The literacy rate in Tamora is 89%, one of the lowest in Mundus. Most of those that are illiterate are slaves or former slaves. Furthermore, the education system varries significantly from county to county and from federated kingdom to federated kingdom, there is no national curriculum and school/ education is not mandatory.

Fact #8: Djerb, the capital of Tamora, has 9.5 mil inhabitants. While Djerb is the largest city in terms of population, two other cities Volos (6 millions) and Alavardi (5 million) are major competitors of Djerb when it comes to economic clout. Unlike many capitals, Djerb is not a port and is instead located in the middle of the Aranye continent.

And also a pic from Djerb (RL: Tehran):

The huetlatoloyan

Fun Fact #5: the rulers of the 6 kingdoms of the Huetlatoloyan (styled Huetlatoani meaning "Great King") are viewed in the native faith as the walking incarnation if various deities. Before their enthronement and coronation, the new ruler isolates themself and takes sacred hallucinogenic plants. Afterwards the priesthood interprets what the new Huetlatoani saw in their visions to reveal which God walks the earth in their mortal body.

Fun fact #1: King William (my king) is the best general in my nation but never fights in wars.

Fact #9: In Tamora smoking is widespread and much of what is considered standard anti smoking laws in real life do not exist in Tamora. Tamorans can smoke freely in buildings, public spaces etc.
