Congress of Peoples opens public consultation for Bible Censorship Law

Posted Q4, Juche 12 15:23
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Congress of Peoples has announced it would initiate public consultations regarding the state's official position on the Christian Bible.

Current iterations of the Bible circulating within the FEUSSR, such as the King James Bible or New International Version, have been found to contain content which is unfit and incompatible with modern values and society. This is due to its promotion of violent tendencies which glorify murder and other criminal acts, the promotion of homophobic and misoygnistic lifestyles, permission of lynchings, and so on. There are also concerns that it may serve to radicalise vulnerable portions of society, such as the youth, especially if it is readily available. Preliminary talks with LGBT+ activists, women's rights activists, and other stakeholders in society show that the Bible, in its current form, serves as an apparatus for reactionary clerical classes to exert religious control over certain social groups.

The Congress of Peoples currently has two proposals on the path forward, and wishes to solicit public opinion on both. The proposals are as follows:

    OPTION 1:

The Congress of Peoples formally empowers the People's Publishing Authority to censor the Bible in its current form as to sanitize its socially dangerous and undesirable passages, phrasing, or text. Such passages of concern may include, but are not limited to:

    • Slavery, in 1 Peter 2:16 and 18, and Leviticus 25:44 to 46

    • Indentured servitude, in Leviticus 25:39

    • Murder/sacrifice of a minor, in Judges 11:30 to 39

    • Sexual offences, in 2 Samuel 13:14

    • Genocide advocacy, in Numbers 21:2 and 3

    • Extrajudicial punishment, in Leviticus 26:14 to 39

    • Lynchings, in Leviticus 20:9 and 16

    • Hate crimes, in Leviticus 20:13

    • War crimes (the intentional murder of innocent people), in Numbers 31:17

    • War crimes (extensive destruction and appropriation of property, not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly), in Numbers 31:10

    • War crimes (taking of hostages), in Numbers 31:9, 11, and 18

    • Etc.

The amended Bible produced by the People's Publishing Authority shall be the sole, official version of the Bible permitted for domestic use within the FEUSSR. It shall be known as the Official Print Version (OPV). All other versions of the Bible shall be handed in to the People's Publishing Authority for destruction or preservation.
It shall be an offence to possess, own, distribute, sell, exchange, gift, lend, or otherwise transfer from one person to another a Bible, or extracts of a Bible, that is not in Official Print Version. Exemptions are permitted for academic, research, or cultural study by museums or institutions of research.

    OR

    OPTION 2:

The Congress of Peoples shall limit the possession and acquisition of the Bible to adults aged 18 or above. It shall be an offence to procure, distribute, sell, exchange, gift, lend, or otherwise transfer from one person to another a Bible to a minor.
It shall be an offence to permit minors to enter a church for religious worship or religious education.
It shall be an offence to procure, aid, or perform a Christian sacrament on a minor.

The public consultation will last for 1 month, following which a draft bill will be written and submitted.

British Broadcasting Corporation – First few days of the Raj War
Death toll rises to 1,455 in the Sittwe Attack
More details are emerging of the attack on Sittwe Harbour in British hanthawaddy with the number of the British personnel dead now standing at 520 and 935 Hanthawaddy support staff and local people killed in the attack.

In his statement yesterday the Prime Minister outlined his shock and dismay at the attack and the governments’ gratitude that our allies and the international community more generally has responded so quickly and to “unprovoked act of aggression against a third nation”.

The War Act and coalition government
Parliament passed the War Act 2022 with no votes against. As part of the Act a coalition government has been formed to include members of the Tory Party. Four Tory MPs are now part of a war cabinet, three having previously served in the Military, and one as head of a logistics company. They will be ministers for Requisitions, Air Force, Army and Navy to bolster the Minister of Defence and his junior ministers. The Prime Minister with allies and Cabinet have agreed overall objectives and strategy, leaving command and control to “experienced experts”.

The Act also allows for the nationalisation and requisition of equipment or companies and the suspension of national elections.

Trading on the London Stock Exchange has been suspended for at least a week.

General mobilisation
Army, Navy and Air reserves are now being mobilised with requisitioned A380s and ships to shift equipment and personnel to Diego Garcia or Hanthwaddy.

Equipment and man power is massing in British Hanthawaddy as air defences including both air craft carriers, a large task force including the HMS Prince of Wales, Type 26 and 24 destroyers and submarines are now in position off of the coast near Sittwe. Full air sweeps and 24hr AW&CS service are patrolling the skies with submarines in the sea.

The first sorties by F35 stealth jets have begun, attacking air and other defence positions along the border.

Anglia and hibernia's status on the world

After a televised announcement by Prime Minister Wulfric Tadman and First Minister Frederik Hansen, both have agreed to declare the nation neutral in the ongoing conflicts of the world. Their reasoning is set in the Republic's lack of modern weapons and pathetically small armed forces, along with a mostly apathetic population and lack of threat from any of the current belligerents. Although those who are wishing to flee the conflicts are welcomed into the nation, as long as those fleeing to Anglia or Hibernia are able to provide proper documentation to customs upon arrival.

In other news

The foreign affairs office has stated its wishes to establish formal embassies with the nations of the world, providing that they are willing to host an Anglo-Hibernian embassy on their soil. The office has also accepted the offer of mutual embassies with the nation of Greater arberia and wishes for a prosperous relationship to foster between our two great states.

Embassy Exchange
To whom it may concern,

We would like to begin by stating that we also hope for a long, prosperous relationship between our two nations and that we are pleased that Anglia and Hibernia have accepted our offer for an embassy exchange. As such, we will send Mr. Ermal Doko as our ambassador to your nation, and will welcome the Anglican/Hibernian ambassador upon their arrival to Arbëria. We will arrange an embassy for your nation near the heart of Tirana.

In reply

To Fatjona Myftiu and the Greater Arberia foreign affairs office,

We are delighted to accept your ambassador Ermal Doko and have already prepared a suitable embassy for your most wonderful nation, placed just a street down from the Anglican Senate House in Hólmsá, Anglia. As for the concern of an Anglo-Hibernian ambassador, ambassadors Jake Nelson and Sean Byrne will represent the interests of both halves of our prosperous Republic.

We too wish for a lasting bond between our two cultures and mutually look forward to what is in store.

The soviet raj

PART 1, 1945 Hours Local, Briefing Room, Camp Tahrir, Thar Desert, Islamican

Major Loring, Captain St.Clair, and Group Captain McCallister stop in front of large boards of maps of the state of Rajasthan and of the Soviet Raj. They were about to brief the flight leads on their mission.

Loring: Gentlemen, we've been given new orders to strike against Jaipur, Rajasthan's State Capitol, It's a target-rich environment. There is an air base, several supply depots, factories that are being used in the war effort, and the Soviet Army Group 5's HQ is in the city. Major Chamberlain has confirmed that they're set up in the capitol buildings. Our goal is to destroy these installations and weaken the Soviet Forces on the border. We want to keep Civilian Casualties to a minimal, Major Chamberlain and his group have already sent us coordinates of these locations. Do not, under any circumstances drop unguided munitions over Civilian areas. Captain St.Clair, you're up.

St.Clair: Alright Bubs listen up, At 2100 Hours, we'll take off from Camp Tahrir, The EA-6 Prowlers will lead the formation, jamming and pointing out enemy radar and air defense systems. Behind them, the F-4G Wild Weasels will destroy these ground-based air defenses clearing a path for us. 3 Flights of F-4E and 3 Flights of F-5E Tiger IIs will provide fighter escort for the formation, The rest of the F-5 will be with the E-2 at the rear of the formation to provide escort and be held in reserve, the rest Phantoms will be used for the ground attack to aid the A-4s. We'll be attacking the runway, and Supply Depots to the North. As for you Harriers and Mirage Pilots, Group Captain McCallisters and Air Marshall Devi will brief you after me.

Now, for all of you, and I mean all of you but especially the E-2 crews, New Delhi is Bullseye, You give the fighters the enemy aircraft's bearing from Bullseye, their range from it, then their altitude, and finally the direction of travel. Call-outs should sound like this then "Bandits, 040 at 70 Miles, heading southwest at 5,000". Meaning that there are bandits at bearing 040 from Bullseye, 70 miles from bullseye, flying southwest and 5,000 feet. After the AWACS makes a call out, Fighters, you're to look at your position and look at where the enemy is and vector an intercept, AWACS will then direct the flight closest to intercept, but at this point we're beating a dead horse. You know your jobs and I have faith in you all. Major Loring and I will be the Flight leads of the F-4Es tasked with escorts. Our flight leads, you're dismissed, brief your men, and ready your planes.

The Flight leads assigned to Major Loring and St.Clair get up and head to their groups to repeat what they had been told, Loring and St.Clair followed them as they were going to brief their flight and ready their aircraft. They approached the Reventment where their flight's F-4s were housed. The 4 Phantoms are painted in Desert Camouflage, The Tippoo's Coat of Arms as Roundels, A Wolf's head as their squadron's emblem, and teeth and eyes painted on the nose, Wolf Squadron. The 101st Fighter-Bomber Squadron of the Royal Indian Air Force, RIAF, was composed of 48 F-4Es. The 102nd Fighter Squadron, AKA Hornet Squadron was the F-5s, The 103rd Attack Squadron, Also known as Killer Bee Squadron was the A-4s, 104th Attack Squadron aka Viper Squadron were the F-4Gs, the 105th Electronic Warfare Squadron aka Spider Squadron were the EA-6s and the E-2s. McCallister Group, the 100th Fighter Squadron was called Bear Squadron and Devi's Mirages, The 1st Fighter Fighter Squadron was Tiger Squadron. Loring and St.Clair briefed their men before McCallister and an angry Air Marshal Laal Devi joined them.

Devi: D@MN THAT FOOL VARMA! DOES HE WANT MY MIRAGES KILLED!!

Loring: What do you mean sir?

Devi: Varma wants me to have my Mirages only carry bombs, he said that your men can handle everything, that wasn't the original plan and I can hardly counter his orders. Loring, can your fighters cover us?

Loring: We'll try but we might be running on fumes by the time you get there. We don't have time to change the plan.

McCallister: My lads might be able to aid, but we're not the best for the job.

Loring: S*it, well, that'll have to do for now, come on Boys, we're going up soon. Good luck to you McCallister and to you Devi.

McCallister: And same to you Loring, Same to you. St.Clair, you do your best now to stay alive as well, can't have a good scot dying, even if he is an American.

St.Clair: Thank you sir, we'll see you when we get back.

McCallister: Of course.
McCallister and Devi walked away as Loring, St.Clair and the Rest of their flight climbed into their F-4s, starting their massive J-79s engines. Wolf Squadron, is about to go on its first hunt.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Greater arberia

It has been made a priority by the Congress of Peoples that the peoples of Balkan Europe and East Asia should begin engaging in more deep, comprehensive bilateral ties with one another. Bilateral cooperation is mutually beneficial for both our peoples, emerging from the deep potential for cooperation between us. As Greater arberia emerges as a regional leader in Europe, and as we emerge as the regional powerhouse of the East, we must both work together, sooner rather than later, to construct more comprehensive schemes of cooperation that will impact trade, culture, society, technology, military affairs, and infrastructure.

The two countries mutually complement each other. Let us see a brighter future together.

The FEUSSR wishes to dispatch Ambassador Zheng Xiwei to Greater Arberia to serve as diplomatic envoy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further wishes to propose the creation of the Far Eastern-Arberian Free Trade Agreement, a free trade agreement that will bolster our export and import markets, providing for more competitive industries, and allowing our citizens to enjoy the fruits of international trade. Under this trade agreement, both jurisdictions covenant to remove all tariffs on all traded goods and services between the two jurisdictions. Note that this arrangement shall not apply to the Ryukyu islands autonomous region or The four western circuits.

We await your cherished reply.

Osprey V-22 callsign Odin, approaching airfield, Camp Tahrir

As the massive tilt-rotor aircraft made final approach, the sole general officer onboards stared out the viewport and looked at the motley collection of planes, pilots and troops. Gen. David Gates of the Marine Corps was being sent ahead to inspect the camp as it would work for the time being as an advanced MEU staging area. The first flights of C-130s were departing Hawaii and California before stopping in Guam and then heading here to offload armor, troops and supplies. As the Osprey landed, he came down the ramp, the sound of the engines idling down. Seeing a group of men approach, he waited for their arrival.

... Off of the coast of Sittwe … Bay of Bengal … 04:00 Local Time...

Admiral Haddaway stands on the bridge of the HMS Prince of Wales: Are we ready?

Flight Lieutenant: “Yes Sir”

Haddaway: "Then away".

The F3s launch in quick succession, about 1 minute apart, this will be the first time they have been tested in full combat, this is the real thing.

They launch and fly into the distance and the admiral asks for an update. Flight Lieutenant: “All away sire, climbing to optimum level. Nothing on the radar sir. Recon and AW&Cs, say we’re clean.”

An hour later British units and men are moving north, Typhoons patrol overhead, two columns including MRLS and large numbers of artillery and tank units move through Rikhawdar and Kampat towards the border of the Manipur and Nagaland.

In the distance the rumble of very distant explosions can be heard. The F35s have done their job, sneak in without detection, launch fire-and-forget missiles at air defences and get back.

At 06:30 the Admiral is informed: “They’re on their way back sir. All accounted for.”

Haddaway: “Ok. Get them ready for the next sortie, and remind them, the Raj will be expecting them this time”

DARPA internal message
Subject: Project Darkstar

Citing the age of the current fleet of SR-71 Blackbirds, it has been decided that the recently planned SR-72, nicknamed Son of Blackbird and officially dubbed Darkstar will henceforth be given the green light for design and production following test in the most extreme cases. It must be stressed that this aircraft be capable of reaching or surpassing the speeds set by the current SR-71, in excess of Mach 6 or higher. It must be fitted with the latest in surveillance and also have the range to reach any location of Earth for recon and spy mission. It must also have more advanced safety features, a more advanced heat shield and more advanced handling so pilots can better control the craft at Mach speeds. This project is to be labeled Most Secret. Any leaks that occur will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Indonesia Installs Missile Batteries In Natunas Islands

Following incursions of unmarked fishing vessels into Indonesian waters in the Natunas Islands over the last decade have typically been met with force by the Indonesian Coast Guard, occasionally even Navy to disperse illegal fishers. Several times, violence erupted, resulting with trespassing fishing vessels being boarded, crews detained and arrested, and their vessels sank immediately after failure to comply with orders to immediately exit Indonesian waters. With war erupting in neighboring Hanthawaddy, Jakarta has recently extended its military presence into the Indian Ocean and secured its island territories to ensure conflict doesn't reach the archipelago nation. With increasing concerns over the Northern border, the Indonesian government has seen fit to install the two National Advanced Surface to Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) purchased in 2020, upon Natuna Besar, the largest island within the Natunas Regency of the Riau Islands province.

Each unit contains 12 launchers with 6 missiles each with a range of 30km and operational crew of 2, the high mobility surface defense system is capable of rapid deployment upon detection of foreign aircraft or ships entering Indonesian territories. In addition to the NASAMS, 2 Mechanised M1133A2 Integrated Firing Units of similar capabilities will be transferred from Singapura to Natuna Besar for protection. These combined Surface to Air Missile platforms are capable of launching a total of 288 missiles, and are expected to act as exceptional deterrents. In order to complement the SAM systems installed, an additional 20 S-60 57mm anti-aircraft cannons have been transitioned over bases in Banjarmasin.

Furthermore, 1 Sejong Destroyer, 4 Pohang Class Corvettes, and 2 Formidable Class Frigates will be dispatched to the Natunas Regency. All vessels dispatched to the Natuna Regency will be integrated fully into Indonesia's Integrated Marine Surveillance System alongside those dispatched to patrol Indonesia's Indian Ocean coastlines, ensuring safety of the Indonesian Republic.

Sorong, Papua Barat Province

Ciputra Towers Complex

Rain lashed the ground violently as strong winds threw about debris and rubbish indiscriminately, brilliant bolts of jagged of lighting crossed the otherwise dark grey and cloudy sky, illuminating the layered storm clouds and silhouetting towers in the heart of Sorong. Each vivid flash was summarily punctuated by booming thunder loud enough to vibrate buildings before its resonance faded into the sounds of rain pummeling the landscape. Despite the harsh conditions, traffic flowed throughout the city normally, trails of whites and red blurring together along major roadways from the illumination of vehicles; light rail continuing to roll along, unbothered by the storm as they had a schedule to keep. This was the view provided by the broad window of the 37th floor conference room of Tower 2 in the Ciputra Towers Complex.

Along the left-hand wall was the large paneled window overlooking the newly revitalized city of Sorong; the wall opposite that was adorned with modern artwork depicting various localized landscapes, and a portrait of the late first president of Indonesia. The South or "bottom" wall contained the double doors intobthe room, flanked by security personnel and two larger reached tropical looking plants in ornate pots. The North or "top" wall contained a drop-down projector screen, fully unfurled, onto which the projector in the center of the ceiling room was suspended, currently displaying various images and statistics. In the center of the room was a smart, polished black table, around which sat representatives from Aozhou, The Philippines, and Indonesia, convened for an emergency meeting of the heads of government of ASEAON regarding the membership of Hanthwaddy, although, the situation had changed significantly since the outbreak of conflict had begun.

Currently speaking was Indonesian President Rayyan, addressing her colleagues; on either side of sat the Indonesian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

"As you can see, the Hanthawaddan economy is burgeoning as the nation continues to equalise its total national growth and the HDI of Hanthawaddy continues to go on the up and up.
These all seem to be right on track for ASEAON ascension goals."

Taking a moment, she grabbed her glass of water to take a sip before setting it back down and continuing.

"Now...we all know that the situation in Hanthwaddy has changed, quite drastically, since we agreed to meet in Sorong regarding their ASEAON membership. Outright conflict has broken out between India and Hanthwaddy in the Northern regions near their shared border. At this time, I do not know the exact causes of conflict, though my national intelligence agencies are currently monitoring the situation, if we discover something, it will be shared immediately with both of your governments. I'm sure that you know we'll enough about this conflict, Prime Minister Wang, as it would appear that the Commonwealth has come in to aid Hanthwaddy.

I have increased my nation's military presence along the Indian Ocean Coast and secured Indonesian territories in the area, as well as the Natunas Regency near the South China Sea as a precautionary measure. I assure you both that I intend to maintain Indonesian neutrality throughout this conflict, if the Commonwealth were to doubt my intentions, I can assure you that Indonesia would never turn on one of its closest allies, Aozhou, for assurance for the Crown.

Mowever I am willing to supply the government of Hanthawaddy with materials and supplies should they need it, and I have opened the border with their Southern peninsula to refugees, and will provide shelter to them throughout the duration of this conflict. I am concerned, for the people of Hanthwaddy in this war. ASEAON cannot do much other than condemn the actions of India, however, that of course will need unanimous support from all of us. We also must find a course of action to take in regards to their ascension to ASEAON."

She finished speaking before clasping her hands together on the table, looking to the leaders of Aozhou and the Philippines to await their replies.

The Riksrådet Oslo Session

Riksrådet members voted 350 in favor to 150 against for the Armament act and renewal today to increase defensive expenditures. A focus will be placed on the acquisition of new equipment, and authorized purchase of foreign, allied made warplanes.

The bill places emphasis on the development of domestic equipment in areas of artillery, MLRS systems, and anti missile measures.

The Riksrådet also issued a statement of concern regarding the potential for war in the area of Turco-Bulgaria, hoping that all sides can see to it a peaceful resolution.

The same statement of concern stated the following in regards to the Far Eastern Union of Soviet Republics

“We, the Riksrådet of the Kalmar Union, do hope the strange involvement of the FEUSSR in European affairs is of good faith. Their practice of “armed neutrality” only seemingly shows a willingness to force the will of its government on the sovereignty of other nations to broker deals that only favor one party, the FEUSSR. Our trade, our citizens, must not be interfered with. We do hope the use of the UAN can be realized to broker such deals. We will seek such paths on the international floor.”

Finally, the finalization of the Oslo session ended in a resolution of reaffirming friendship with Romanovskaya.

“Our nations have long been connected, and it is the continuing goal of this government to continue the friendly relations we have enjoyed in the Baltic regions. We stand firmly with the people of Romanovskaya and will uphold its sovereignty at all times.”

The Riksrådet will meet again in 3 weeks in Copenhagen as it takes its turn in the yearly rotation between the 3 capitals.

Taking a breath after the Indonesian President spoke, Prime Minister Nathaniel Liu replied, “Aozhou is committed to providing support to our Commonwealth allies in this conflict and to Hanthwaddy itself, both in terms of military aid and humanitarian aid, but the Aozhou Defense Forces will not directly unilaterally intervene in this conflict.” Looking at President Rayyan, he continued, “As for multilateral actions, we firmly support an official condemnation of India’s actions in this conflict by ASEAON and, in fact, hope our friends in the Philippines,” he said with a glance in the Filipino leader’s direction,”concur on this matter.”

Glancing at Foreign Minister Natalie Vang beside him, Liu continued, “As for Hanthwaddy’s accession to ASEAON… the economic growth targets appear to be on track, as you mention, but it’s difficult to say how they may change depending on the duration and severity of the conflict at hand. That said, one of the underlying goals of ASEAON is maintaining stability and security in the Southeast Asia and Oceania region. Hanthwadddy is very much a part of this region and a truly stable Southeast Asia will require a stable and strong Hanthwaddy. But a question we will have to ask ourselves is if admitting Hanthwaddy now in the middle of a conflict can be justified to our citizens as increasing and preserving the peace in our region. I don’t pretend to have all the answers but I am intrigued to hear your opinions.”

Liu then sat back and looked eagerly at President Rayyan and the Philippines’ leader.
