Hello the Rejected Realms.

There was an incident 2 days ago, in my region, an incident involving the nation anti-LGBT Diolandjojo:
`

I have very important information for everyone; especially the LGBT community. I want you to know this, so you could be warned of what's happening right now and so you could share this as well with everyone.

This is an attack on as many social media platforms as possible.
It's called Operation Pridefall (AKA Pridefall).
It's mostly an attack on the LGBT community.

Why would we sail in a random direction if we thought that if we did we’d fall off?

Sure, Magellan and Columbus thought so, but did society? It’s for science.

I think society thought so too

Umm, no? At the time, the vast majority of people thought the Earth was flat, and that if you sailed West from Spain, you’d fall off. Don’t know what you’re talking about.

Columbus was just an idiot. Pretty sure everyone else thought the earth was round, since the Classical Era.

Well the Greeks knew the earth was round, but I guarantee you the majority of the 1500s Europeans before 1492 thought the earth was flat.

No, highly unlikely. Columbus went to search for a sea route closest to asia, trying to land in India. Queen Isabella and her husband Ferdinand sent Columbus on a mission they thought would fail, and it did. They sent him to find a route to asia, but he landed in what is today Cuba. Everyone was surprised for sure, but no one thought the earth was flat.

After a quick google search, it appears I was educated wrongly. I thought most people thought the earth was flat in the 1400s, but I guess not.

Also, you don’t need to explain King Ferdinand of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castille, with India, for spices, because the Ottoman blocked the land routes, I know. Also, didn’t he land in the modern day Dominican Republic? Because of Santo Domingo, the earliest American settlement by Europeans in 1494?

Uh, maybe? He landed somewhere near the Gulf of Mexico, so I don't really know.

Well obviously he landed in the Caribbean, but I’m 90 percent sure he landed in Hispaniola.

Likewise. At first I thought he landed on Cuba, but that was probably another spanish explorer/conquistador. Ah, History, truly how you make yourself.
