Ah, China's is a very fascinating story which if I spoke on, would ruffle many feathers on the matter of its warlord era history.

Ew, blue cheese smells.

Jewish Partisan Division wrote:Disagree, communists absolutely used the banner of freedom. Not in same way as some others, but they advertised themselves as a society where workers could find freedom away from the upper classes (and the concept of a class society.) That's a still a promise of freedom and of course, it was never delivered upon.

Yet they never abided by the principle of liberty!

Syndicasia wrote:99% of all discourse on human nature is metaphysical nonsense and the God Emperor only really proves this... human nature is shaped by material needs and realities and social conditioning as well as adaptation, which is something in our biology as well (epigenetics)... a system that rewards greed and profit will breed individualism and a system that rewards collective gain will breed collectivism

The God Emperor doesn't care about collectivism. He cares about the survival of humanity.

Hardly the same thing, Jacobins were liberals at most, rogue revolutionaries at least.

wanting freedom is a natural human instinct and many peoples over the millennia have exploited this

Anybody who associates communism with China will receive a scolding from me

So, whilst I'm sure y'all are having an important and well-reasoned conversation that'll solve the problems of both capitalism and communism, I'm gonna interrupt to ask for some feedback on something.

The map relaunch is coming, very soon, but we're still deciding rules around claim size - namely, how many pixels someone will initially be able to claim on the map. This reference image ( https://imgur.com/qXrCmQ6 ) is of the smallest continent on the map - and we're currently leaning towards allowing initial claims (note the initial part of this - you will be allowed to expand!) of 50,000 pixels if you're endorsing the delegate or a member of the Rejected Realms Army and 40,000 pixels if not, but I'm open to hearing other suggestions.

I was joking

Yet even by this logic, collectivism is needed

Terrae I've taken down Japan, so stop you war in north America.

I did yesterday when Attes agreed to a peace deal

I tripled in size

Cyptopir wrote:wanting freedom is a natural human instinct and many peoples over the millennia have exploited this

Yet this freedom is never able to take a concrete form!
Freedom for one is slavery for ten!

If we operate on the basis of the abstract ideology of freedom, we will never abolish class and hence the "freedom for one is slavery for ten" quip will always apply... simply because classes exist and interests clash, making only one "free"

Which reminds me. The only reason Ho Chi Minh associated with the Communists in the first place was simply because he hated the French. Not really out of any ideological belief. This is further pushed with how he willingly accepted not only ministers from the Japanese occupation government, but even openly accepted Japanese training for his early Vietnamese Army against France following the end of WWII. That's not to say he didn't oppose Japan as well, but he opposed them as invaders like the French. He was firmly a nationalist but it's always funny to see him brought up in communist circles simply because he courted the Kuomintang (And the later Communist split off) and Soviets.

Angevin-Romanov Crimea wrote:Utopia is exactly what it originally was: fiction.
Dystopias can exist, but they will always fall. Always. No hell is eternal, no tyrant is immortal, and no system is forever. Even what seems to be shaping the rest of human history at this moment will soon fade to dust, and something new yet entirely incomprehensible will take its place.
Nothing is perfect, nothing is forever. Cherish imperfection and cherish mortality. Of course, fixing your faults is an obvious, but do not make it your life goal.

I suppose I sometimes fall victim to the wishes of human immortality. I do not wish to see myself live forever, I want to see humanity live forever. Into the era of black holes, past the end of even the universe. Yet, I am not sure if this would ever be achievable, nor is it more than a utopian wish. But, this idea will eventually pitter out, as all do.

Take your time with the show. Things will only keep getting darker, and the ending can make a grown man cry.

You could certainly have a nation that's heavily Russian inspired.

Well, back out to the forest I go.

I am currently thinking of replacing the Sectors concept with actual states since the reason why i made Sectors is because its easier than individually naming each and every state

Belarus boo Polska yay!

Mad Jack Is Rejected wrote:You could certainly have a nation that's heavily Russian inspired.

Can I claim 1/8 of the map?

Arctic Lands wrote:No Russia larp?
