The Ascendant Stellar Federation of Auracexia is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by Séterrhÿana Ravÿnna-Asträeva with a fair hand, and notable for its rum-swilling pirates, barren, inhospitable landscape, and ubiquitous missile silos. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, humorless population of 32.051 billion Aoraqet'yari hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The large, corrupt, liberal, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Industry, Education, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ser'khetyeva — Auracexia Prime. The average income tax rate is 92.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Aoraqet'yari economy, worth a remarkable 5,567 trillion Aoraqet'yari Credits a year, is quite specialized and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Arms Manufacturing, and Retail. Black market activity is rampant. Average income is an impressive 173,723 Aoraqet'yari Credits, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.2 times as much as the poorest.

There's more than one way to skin a diplomat, court cases mostly involve lawyers shouting questions at witnesses giving silent shrugs, home renovation projects take decades to complete, and enemy agents are generally eliminated with extreme prejudice. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Auracexia's national animal is the phoenix, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution, and its national religion is Aoraqetism.

Auracexia is ranked 7,371^st in the world and 5^th in The Local Cluster for Highest Average Tax Rates, with 92.74 Effective Tax Rate.
