The Colony of De Koog is a massive, genial nation, notable for its irreverence towards religion. The hard-working, democratic population of 2.116 billion De Koogians enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

The tiny government prioritizes Welfare, with Education, Healthcare, and International Aid also on the agenda, while Spirituality and Environment receive no funds. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 7.5%.

The strong De Koogian economy, worth 148 trillion guilders a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Door-to-door Insurance Sales, Retail, and Soda Sales. Average income is 69,786 guilders, with the richest citizens earning 7.5 times as much as the poorest.

Crime is moderate, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. De Koog's national animal is the lion, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

De Koog is ranked 118,393^rd in the world and 3^rd in Texel for Most Rebellious Youth, scoring zero on the Stark-Dean Displacement Index.
