The Federal Republic of Gabane is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Walden Jacinto with an even hand, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space, compulsory military service, and parental licensing program. The hard-nosed, humorless, devout population of 4.523 billion Gabanese are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed, including voting. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Gabane City. The average income tax rate is 48.8%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Gabanean economy, worth 387 trillion Gabnirs a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Trout Farming, Tourism, and Book Publishing. Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 85,614 Gabnirs, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Billions of Gabnirs are being poured into a space program, prisoners can't do number twos without their "toilet buddy" present, foreign leaders' Twitcher accounts are monitored for potential threats to national security, and friendly fire incidents usually result in severe burns. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gabane's national animal is the Narranese Dog, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is None.

Gabane is ranked 7,791^st in the world and 2^nd in ASEAN for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 9,387.52 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
