The Armed Republic of Recondia is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by President Tshombe with an even hand, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space and punitive income tax rates. The quiet, industrious population of 35.21 billion Recondians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kligali. The average income tax rate is 57.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The enormous but inefficient Recondian economy, worth a remarkable 1,078 trillion Dollars a year, is highly specialized and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Trout Farming. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 30,618 Dollars, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.5 times as much as the poorest.

Prime real estate is devoted to wind farms and solar energy generators, citizens applying for their first jobs face fierce competition from the homeless, Recondia has designated Kligali as its capital city, and President Tshombe has just been declared ruler of Recondia in an international press conference. Crime is almost non-existent. Recondia's national animal is the Lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Christianity.

Recondia is ranked 304,144^th in the world and 10^th in The Straw Hat Pirates for Highest Disposable Incomes, with 12,890.31 Standard Monetary Units.
