The solid ground on which we tread gave way to sacred waters that churned with gentle and magnificent energy. Gemini is a place of endless rivers flowing from mysterious source to enigmatic ocean and the million miles between those two points is a delta of infinite divisions like the veins of the Earth pressed to its surface. We watered between two currents: torrential rapids on our right foaming white and tasting of summer, a wide but gentle river on our left whose water was sweet and made us think of love. We filled our casks and labelled them according to mood.

I wish I could have met that younger man, just to see him and know what great promise looked like. How often do we re-read the first sentence of a story, wishing we could remember what it felt like to not know where the narrative was going? Or does hindsight make the knowledge sweeter?

Seal: I tighten as desire grows hungry. I am shown the limits of my wisdom; when starved desire takes hold of me, I do not tighten anything but loose control entirely.

We spent the night sampling flavors from all the springs we had found. I kept a jar hidden from the rest, filled with water that I found spraying from a fissure in solid rock. It was hot and hard and when I drank it I felt energy beyond composure. It made my blood hot. I keep the rage water close to me.
