Under the sign of the dagger
Age of Apotheosis

The beach was as wide and endless as the salt sea before it and the waves that lapped at the edge of camp bore ticklish foam. Sharp rocks broke the surface further out, like stony hedgerows, and stretched from horizon to horizon. It might have been a maze. It might have been man-made.

In the mouth of a conch shell, I heard the Monolith speak, "What secret binds this sacred land."

And if I answered, then what kind of secret-keeper would I be?

In the long legacy of Grand Chancellors - Great Pretenders - and unchanging changes, I hear this refrain more than any, single secret:

Secret Binds This Sacred Land

Lord of Nations at Thy feet,
In the secret lore we meet,
Hear our voices, we entreat,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

From the regions mighty star,
We gather here, now, at the bar,
Make our praises be heard afar,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

Men of every creed and race,
Gather here before Thy face,
Asking Thee to bless this place,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

From dissension, envy, hate,
And corruption guard our State,
Make our country good and great,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

Secret peace shall be our boast,
But, should our foes assail our coast,
Make us then a vengeful host,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

Lord of battles in Thy might,
Put our enemies to the flight,
Let our cause be just and right,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

Let our praise for Thee increase,
May Thy secrets never cease,
Wake us up, this sleeping beast,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

From dishonour, loss, and shame,
Guard our regions spotless name,
Crown her with immortal fame,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

May our Nations ever see
Freedom's guarded, blessed be,
Make us faithful unto Thee,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.

Guarded knowledge in the ban,
Secret truths of light of man,
Working out Thy glorious plan,
Secrets Bind this sacred land.
