Ban kitan

Blood to Spare | May 1985

The military history of Ban Kitan was one of careful attacks and precise strikes. Ban Kitan had only gotten as far as they had because they had been extremely careful with their armed forces. Yet even with their careful doctrine, Ban Kitan still suffered several defeats. One of the main hindrances to Ban Kitan's military excursions was a severe lack of troops. Even though success had been claimed over Northern Africa and the Sahara, if Ban Kitan was to expand any more, a serious overview of the military had to be made. Through the conquest of Northern Africa, many people now lived under the flag of Ban Kitan, a result that provided boons and issues alike. An argument was made, however, that the population of Ban Kitan presented the armed forces with a unique doctrine opportunity.

Human wave tactics had a long history, being used in the Boxer Rebellion, Russo-Japanese War, the Russian Revolution, WWI and WWII. The act of throwing an overwhelming amount of soldiers at a threat proved to be quite effective when applied correctly. Recognizing this, the military staff of Ban Kitan formulated a doctrine based off the country's previous successes. Mass assaults would be employed, where soldiers would charge an enemy, even to the point of engaging in melee combat, for the purpose of overwhelming defenses and defeating an enemy. A three-pronged approach was drafted to enact this fresh doctrine. The three main concepts of the plan included a focus on close-quarters-combat training, an increase to the raw numbers of the army, and artillery modernization. The combination of these factors would allow the Ban Kitan army to not only become a professional fighting force, but put it on the level of other industrial nations.

Melee combat was a concept not entirely unknown to the soldiers of Ban Kitan, as urban combat was one of the primary forms of fighting that won most of Northern Africa over. To fight effectively in a close-combat scenario, effective weapons were needed. For the regular soldiers, bayonets and knifes would suffice, but more advanced equipment was required to truly break defensive lines. The Red Warriors, a paramilitary funded by the state, was selected as a foundation for the new shock-trooper unit of the Ban Kitan army. A small amount of Russian KS-23 shotguns had made their way to Northern Africa, and were picked up by the Ban Kitan Army during it's initial conquest. The compact frame, gauge size, and ease of use made it a favorite of the few troops who managed to get their hands on it. These firearms were collected, studied, and modified to create the original Ban Kitan designed weapon BK-1201. This weapon was similar to the Russian model in a few ways, but different and even better in enough facets. In conjunction with this new close-range firearm, the troops of Unit 2 or "Shocktroopers" of the Ban Kitan Army were also equipped with the BK-1801. Drawing inspiration from the trench maces of WWI, the BK-1801 was comprised of a wood shaft, with a layer of steel around the top, fashioned with small spikes to break through bone and cartilage. Brass knuckles were also a staple found among quite a few Ban Kitanian soldiers, for more effective close-quarters fighting. These weapons were given to all Unit 2 soldiers and officers due to their proximity to the frontline. Unit 2 would be the tip of the spear of the Ban Kitan Army, the first on the frontline, designed to rush defenses and pave the way for the rest of the armed forces.

The conquests of Ban Kitan were quick and consecutive, leaving a lot of holes in the defenses of Ban Kitan, either at the local or national level. The success of Ban Kitan's military excursions were partly due to the disorganization of their enemies. When the solar flare struck the earth, the governments of Africa were largely fractured, leaving little to stand in the way of the new North African power. The lack of raw numbers was a considerable enough problem that the Triumvirate of Ban Kitan decided to phase in a draft that would recruit around 2% of the population. When completed, this would bring the total troop count of the Ban Kitan army up to around 2-3 million troops. After this recruitment was successful, the next step was to increase the percentage to 5%, although that drastic of an action would require a catalyst. The large troop count would benefit the doctrine that the generals of Ban Kitan were aiming for. After all, mass assaults need a mass of soldiers.

To ensure that the massive charges of infantry at enemy lines would succeed, proper cover would be needed. This cover fire would be supplied with machine guns and artillery. First, Ban Kitan needed a light machine gun, one that could be carried in squad formations. The Soviet RPK-74M was the primary candidate for squad automatic weapons. Similar to the AK-47 in their ability to be mass-produced, these were easily copied and had minor changes performed on them. The BK-1501 was born, using the classic AK frame, but with an elongated barrel, drum magazine, and bipod. One of the most widely-used medium machine guns was the SG-43, a Soviet-made medium machine gun. Developed in 1943 as a replacement for the older M1910 Maxim machine guns. The gun's employment had mostly halted in the late 1960's in the Soviet Union, but enough remained in northern Africa that they were picked up by the army of Ban Kitan. This gun was also modified in minor ways, and the BK-1601 was forged. The final machine gun to be produced was to be of the heavy variety, put on vehicles to mow down enemies or attack other unarmored vehicles. The first US firearm model to be appropriated by the Ban Kitanian government, the M2 Browning found itself in several North African countries. This among many other weapons, would be changed and transformed into the BK-1701. Now that the issue of machine guns had been handled, divisional artillery was next to ensure that infantry charges would be able to get close enough to enemy lines. Soviet designs dominated the landscape of artillery in Egypt, with popular models including the D-20, D-30, and M-46. Multiple of these models were meshed into the BK-2101, sporting minor designs details from Soviet and even US towed artillery designs. This would serve as the primary artillery piece to support mass assaults for the Ban Kitanian army.

One of the most impactful weapons left over by the North African governments gifted by the Soviets was the Scud, a tactical ballistic missile that had a range of around 400 kilometers with a payload of 985 kilograms. While this missile and it's variations were quite effective in combat, a Ban Kitanian model had to be produced and the Scud could be easily changed by increasing the payload by a mere 15 kg to make it an even 1000. Through this minor modification, the BK-3101 or "Liberator" missile was born. To fire this missile, the old Soviet Luna-M short-range artillery rocket system was converted to the BK-2701 Transporter erector launcher. The Liberator would be at the forefront of the infantry charge to decimate enemy fortifications. MRLs or Multiple Rocket Launchers were also considered as a potential inclusion into the Ban Kitan army, but put aside for the moment to focus on other projects. Tanks and dedicated tank destroyer vehicles were also on the list for needs to achieve a cohesive and effective military, but were also tabled for a later discussion.

Ban Kitan had taken a large step in self determination with the creation many original models for firearms, vehicles and even melee weapons. If Ban Kitan was to achieve it's ideological goal, it would need to reinforce its shield and sharpen its sword. All of these new weapons would need targets however, and a prime target for Ban Kitanian expansion was what was left of Nigeria. Ever since Ban Kitan invaded and took the northern region of Nigeria, there were reports of Islamic fundamentalists building up in the south of the country. For obvious reasons, the leadership of Ban Kitan took notice to this. Apparently, the new group was calling itself "Ban Kitan Haram". This name roughly translated to "Ban Kitan is sacrilege". The Triumvirate identified Nigeria and the West Coast at large as it's next target for expansion. The Ban Kitanian army hadn't stretched its legs for a long time, but it was time to run. No mosque, church, or synagogue would be left standing when faced with the might of Ban Kitan.

Surrounding the Sun | May 5th - May 17th, 1985 | Saitama Prefecture(excluding areas near Saitama City)
The tanks and infantry began moving into the city of Chichibu, and into the towns Ogawa, Okegawa, and Kuki, all with the intent of closing off the northern end of Tokyo from any kind of support from any remaining cells of the Communist Forces that were not already defending the mega-city. Date Tsungeru was finally able to return to the war and lead his men to victory. The fighting was fierce and bloody, for the Communist Front had once again adopted spider nest tactics, making it hard for the Alliance Forces to push forward. However, the Alliance had developed a new strategy, using old equipment to deal with this threat. With the use of flamethrowers, soldiers could simply burn the spider nest, but the flamethrowers were more of a deterint. For the simple fact that these spider’s nests were filled with nothing but regular people thrust into service under the Red Banner, the Alliance Commanders believed that the threat of a slow fiery death could persuade these “Spiders” to surrender their arms. When it was put to the test, the tactic seemed to work really well, with the flamethrower units only having to burn three of the ten nests that they were tested on. And so throughout Saitama Prefecture, flame units were sent to aid the regular infantry with clearing the towns. Of course progress was still gonna be slow, but not as slow as clearing every single building. On the 11th, the towns of Ogawa, Okegawa, and Kuki were secured by the Alliance Forces. Only the city of Chichibu stood in the way of securing the majority of the prefecture. So the choice was made to send another two detachments to help the troops in charge of taking Chichibu. However that would change on the 14th when a large detonation rocked the city, and following a quick reaction force to identify the source of the explosion, it was determined that the Communist Forces had planted various bombs around the city, and had activated them all at once. It was very effective, for ~60% of the Alliance Force inside the city were either injured in some way or killed. Once again angered by this loss, a group of military officers gathered some of the surrendered “Spiders” and began executing groups of them in the other towns they had just conquered, and it wasn’t until Date Tsungeru intervened that it had stopped. It was however too late, and as many as 140 “Spiders” were killed in total. Tsungeru reprimanded the officers in charge of the atrocities committed, and sent them back up north towards Hokkaido. It was later on the 17th that the encirclement of the Northern parts of Tokyo and Saitama city were complete, and the plans to conquer the Sun were beginning to be formed.

A Better Future/Planning Something Bigger | Mid May, 1985
When the world was plunged into darkness by the corrupt regimes, the nuclear exchange in North America, and the countless wars being fought. Many people grew tired of the idiocracy of mankind, and wanted an end to the wars and regimes. And from their wishes, A World Without Boundaries was formed. Deserters from many a nation’s military, people who were tired of the conflicts, people whose lives were destroyed by war, these were the people who joined the cause. AWWB is no centralized nation with a set government or land to call their own, AWWB is all around the globe, unrestricted by the laws of those in power. AWWB has been active in the shadows for some time, and plans to stay that way until it is sure that it can engage with the larger powers in play. In the meantime, the only thing that AWWB could do for now is terror attacks to spark conflicts between nations so that they could steal equipment and possibily even soldiers would desert their post and join in the ranks. When some of those protested this move, they were told that this is a necessary evil to ensure that in the future no other war would be fought, they just needed some to start so that way their operations were better shielded by the chaos.

The AWWB were hoping to spark a conflict between the Central European Union and the Carolean Empire, but the attack on the CEU Embassy in the Carolean city of Oslo. The attack however did not provide the results the AWWB was looking for, and so for months now cells based in the Carolean Empire and Commonwealth of Independent States have been planning something that could ignite a war between these two powers. All they needed was the right moment to light the spark.

The First International Congress of the Socialist Unity Party of the Central European Union of Achain | 5th of May - 8 of May 1985 | Berlin, Germany, Central European Union

Nations Concerned: The United Socialist States of Roulix, Caloen, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Romanian People's Republic, YugoslavUnion, Ban kitan, The Forgotten Empire of Icelanden, Far Eastern Soviet Republics, United syndicates of aragon, People's Republic of Mongolia, People's Republic of Vietnam, Democratic People's Republic of Korea

On the 2nd of April of 1985, faced with a slew of urgent and often long-time decisions, the leadership Socialist Unity Party of the Central European Union of Achain organized the 10th Congress of the Socialist Unity Party of Achain. Given the urgency and often international nature of these decisions, the Congress would oversee almost as many foreign dignitaries invited over its course as there were domestic representatives of Achain's own parties. These dignitaries were invited over from many nations, discuss many different topics and take final decisions on pressing matters for their own nations as well as observing and taking inspiration from the internal mechanisms and core philosophies of the nations represented. The invitations were sent way ahead of time to maximize their rate of approval. Some dignitaries would have to start their journey at the very least a week in advance, to be on time and to actually participate in the meetings. For the meetings themselves they would be held in Berlin, as per usual. But several works would have to be taken in the Reichstag building, to accomodate more people than its usual maximum capacity. Its overall turnout was expected to be at the very least six thousand, with as many foreign invitations and domestic offices being called upon by the Berlin government. The electrical infrastructure would also be inspected and wherever possible replaced. The amount of languages spoken made it so personal translators wouldn't be viable. Headphones were issued to everyone involved, with real-time translations being provided by translators from the involved states' academies. The Felix Dzerzhinsky regiment and local Staatssicherheits Polizei officers, alongside and and all security officers that came with the dignitaries. The issue of security was taken so seriously that nearly every single meter where a foreign or domestic dignitary would be would come under the mixed protection of multiple armed agencies in Achain. Those guarding the Reichstag would retain their ceremonial Mauzer rifles and tailored umiforms, but Stasi officers and regular army soldiers would be issued their battle gear. Kalashnikov-types and the old Gewehr fifty-nines replaced the old SKS. Felduniforms would immediately replace the formals and often less functional. Even regular police officers in Berlin were opened doors to more armament. The entirety of Berlin resembled a city in wartime. Surrounded by soldiers, police patrolling streets, air defense fully active, constant checks in and out and an overall greater presence of the Stasi. But security wasn't the only concern. Affording temporary housing and relative luxury to the delegates and observers was a custom specific to the CEU. To show the success of a Marxist-Leninist as a proletariat ruled state to other figures and representatives of the global struggle.

On the first day the first subject of debate was Achain's own domestic policies. Only certain foreign observers were present from the Kingdom of Illyria, whether from a socialist, social democrat or just a dignified representative. They were given a seat and allowed to attend as close trade partners and a nation first integrated into the European Food Security Network. In the many subjects discussed the most important was an acceleration of Achain's militarization and level of armaments. Military brass was present and was able to explain the situation accurately. Recent advances in armored protection, anti tank weaponry and helicopter acquisition only served to stengthen Achainain resolve and Deep Battle doctrine. The industry would have to maintain the current fleet of vehicles and increase its yield in specific fields. On the Achainian Industry at large, the plan of the Center for Central Economic Planning was brought over from Varshava and presented to the party. Minor comments were made on the plan but the seal of approval for Achain's next five year plan was given. The goals that had to be made until 1990 were a projected increase of reliance on Nuclear Power, development of heavy industries in the Novorussian Republic, expansion of infrastructure in the Rhine and a further connection of railways to Roulix. Almost no discussion of changing legislature was taken. More was spent in different parties discussing shared policy and minor changes each would take in the many different Achainian legal codes. The Christian Socialist had a particularly interesting point to make on the treatment of the religious people of Achain and abroad. General Secretary and Head of State Gudrun Ensslin responded to Jasmund Erik of the Christian Socialist Party to keep it as a point of discussion for the third day, when the greatest number of foreign delegations were to show up, as she considered it a point of international significance. The day concluded with the arrival of the first official foreign delegate. Fidel Castro of Socialist Cuba, Achain's furthest-and-only American associate. Castro delivered a short speech upon his arrival, as transcribed by a journalist present at the first day of Congress.

"I'd like to welcome Comrade Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, president of Cuba and the figure of Socialism and the people's liberation in the Americas." - Ulrike Meinhof, Prime Minister of the Central European Union of Achain.

Castro stepped onto the stage as the clapping of those present at the event slowly ceased. Many who did not speak Spanish wore bulky headsets with translators ready to translate every word in real time.

"I'd like to begin by thanking Comrades Gudrun Ensslin and Ulrike Meinhof for their invitation to this great event. And by congratulating the Central European Union of Achain for maintaining order and preserving the revolution in Europe.

Through its impressive use of force and idelogical purity the Central European Union has managed to remain standing even as the heart of the revolution, the Soviet Union, fell.

The Cuban revolutionary state has maintained itself through the wars and climate disasters of the predominantly bourgeoisie states in the Americas. The spirit of the people's freedom marches on regardless of what man and nature try to do to oppress it."

The speech, short and conclusive. As translated and adapted from the Spanish language.

The second day of the Congress more and more foreign observers and delegates arrived. A significantly higher military presence was noted that day. Almost half of the Achainian military brass was present at the Congress. It now more closely resembled a military strategical meeting than a political discussion. Alongside Achain's own officer core the officers and representatives of all nations of the Einheitsfront were present. Ukrainian, Calonian, Romanian and Achainian officers, all seated close by, speaking among each other until the main discussion was started. Impressively enough, even the officers and representatives of several non-Einheitsfront were present: Dimitry Yazov, Marshall of the Russian Federation and Franz von Strucker of Roulix and his Cabinet, of particular note. The discussion logically became about threats to Socialism and the integrity of its allies and trade partners. Jasmund Erik brought up his points from the previous day once again, mentioning the abhorrent treatment of the religious inside of Ban kitan. Theodor Hoffman, Minister of Defense, continued the point. He drew on that Ban Kitan, while currently recognized as being unable to project power into Europe, would become a threat un the future. That it was a "violently oppressive and externally aggressive nation" which could not be allowed to interfere in the matters of other nations. Its oppression of not only the religious, but according to any fugitives and its own international declarations, of many other elements of culture and tradition, was universally regarded as evil and oppressive. Even the ruthless and genocidal Swedish Carolean Empire was no longer regarded by the Berlin government as a comparable threat. Hoffman noted that in the near future the countries of Europe might find themselves taking military actions for the containment of the African threat. Hoffman finished his aggressive points by noting that of Achain's proudest and closest allies, Roulix's trust was perhaps misplaced to even consider maintaining trade with what the Einheitsfront considered a future enemy greater than what the CANZUK or the Kuomintang posed. The third day of the Congress was initially filled with arrests and detainments. The high number of foreign observers and delegations made security increase tenfold. Barracked police was deployed and anyone caught with absent, expired or falsified documents was caught and was subjected to summary corporeal punishment and handed over to the Stasi. Finally, the congress had domestic members, the Einheitsfront, as well as delegates from as far away as Cuba, Vietnam, Mongolia and the Far Eastern Soviet Republics. The subjects dicussed in the meeting were those of the threat of the KMT as well as a discussion of reopening and potentially connecting Eurasia through the Trans-Siberian Railway. Open discussion of military matters was kept minimal compared to previous days, as the Einheitsfront was realistically unable to project military power into far East Asia.

Armored Spearhead: Achain's Role in the World | May 1985 | Location: Hamburg, German Republic, Achain

Nations Concerned: Icelanden

When the USSR and the Varshava Pact were still around the newly-born Nationale Volksarmee had a very clearly defined and important role in the strategy of the USSR against both the CANZUK and Western European Powers. The Nationale Volksarmee was to act as the armored spearhead of the Pact's armies. It was supposed to perform many of the same roles of the Red Army, with less of the resources and the sheer volume of soldiers that the USSR could mobilize. It was expected to shock the world with its aggressiveness and its awarded technical superiority, while other Warsaw Pact members operated as garrisons and fought on smaller fronts. But these hypthetical wars never came to be. And as the USSR declined and the CEU grew: a radical shift was about to happen. Firstly, when the USSR decentralized into the RSFSR, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Belorussian SSR and many of its other constituent republics. The Red Army was maintained under a centralized command as one of the few institutions still under the full control of the Moscow government. But little by little every republic began to take a radical shift. When the RSFSR finally collapsed and the FESR and Ukrainian SSR broke free, the balance of power shifted entirely in the CEU's favor. While the nascent Russian Federal Army maintained technical superiority and a greater number of troops and material through its control of vast landmasses and many allies (many of which were former SSRs) the Nationale Volksarmee took away the role of the Red Army as the global defender of the revolution. It would maintain the same aforementioned aggressiveness, but with a few alterations to help it adapt to the new battlefield situations in the world it found itself in. The aggressiveness of the army perhaps seeped enough into the Socialist Unity Party that the Gudrun faction won by a landslide in the brief power struggle of the early 1980s, favoring the military as an institution and increasing its budget and reach.

Now this same army, the army of the Proletariat, was marching down its most ambitious road yet. Operation Winter Storm. The thrust to finally break the old Empire. Planning had already begun since 1983, with constant drills and spontaneous cycling of reservists and veterans to ensure constant war readiness. With all the pieces already in motion and the terror attack that took place on the Achainian embassy, the decision was finally taken. The Socialist Unity Party of the Central European Union of Achain announced in a letter to King Iogrin himself that the Union would sever all diplomatic ties with the Empire, abandoning its half-destroyed embassy and withdrawing any assets it could. The order of partial mobilization had already been given by Theodor Hoffman after the crisis. By the time of May at least thirty divisions had been called upon. Sixteen of these divisions, already at half strength or actively protecting Achain's borders, supplemented their numbers with reservists and were split between the First and Second Military Districts. Fourteen others were called upon from the active reserves. A total of thirty divisions, hastened to would-be frontlines. By the time of mid-June it was estimated that fifty of the CEU's divisions would be battle-ready and able to move. The projected numbers were exactly what command called upon and needed. The issue of protecting Achain's borders would fall to any half-strength or freshly deployed Infanterie Garde Divisions, as well as Achain's existing border police forces. The issues other countries would take with this mobilization would no doubt come immediately in terrified diplomatic talks and assurances. But these were left to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deal with, in the future, to assure the countries to Achain's south that the NVA would not break through the alps. The protection from these and other countries also fell as a task to Achain's allies. Roulix could be expected to fight against the United Kingdom, the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic and the Romanians could be expected to at least hold the ground against the Commonwealth of Independent States, while Caloen and Romania were expected to maintain peace in the Balkans and with Illyria. This combination of threats, overwhelming shows of military force, scheming and guarantees were expected by the SED's leadership to allow the NVA a clean path up north.

Reaching out to Moscow was immediately considered. Historically Russian holdings had been under Swedish occupation since the time of the old Carolean Winter War. If Moscow was called, even with the Russian Army at partial mobilization, it could very well make the war up North easier. Sweden's colonies, important as they might be to the Royal family, would likely just fall within the first hours of invasion with little to no help needed from either the Russians, Ukrainians and/or the Byelorussians. A Russian ground invasion into Finland combined with an assault upon the Empire's colonies would tie most Carolean forces for just enough time for the Volksmarine to break their fragile and aging naval forces and land the first ground forces on Swedish shores. If these landings were to fail, the Strategic Rocket Troops and Long Range Aviation could be counted upon to ensure that they would succeed if they were tried again, bombing important infrastructure and masses of Swedish troops. Fritz Streletz and Gudrun Ensslin were both opposed to using nuclear weapons in either a tactical or strategic sense, finding the weapon immoral and often impractical, even if the Empire lacked its own nuclear weapons with which to retaliate. But the presence of the NSDAP and its combat wing, the Schutzstaffel, was enough to stir up a debate inside of the NVA's command over using nuclear weapons against a long-standing ideological enemy.

Preparing for War, and laying down plans | Mid-Late May, 1985 | Lapland Region, Northern Scandinavia

Nations Concerned: Achain

King Iogrin’s face was grim. The letter from the CEU told him all he needed to know, and it was now time to prepare for something he wished he never had to, war. Soon after reading the letter, King Iogrin made a call to the NSDAP Fuhrer, telling him of the news and of the task that they must do. Then he contacted the military forces over in the Baltic Colonies, telling them all to leave the lands with as much of the military supply as they could, but to also leave small stashes for the civilian militias to use once the war breaks out. Then he made another call to the Imperial Naval Command, telling them to split the fleet and send one half to the northern port city of Narvik, and the other half to the city of Oulu. One of his final calls was to the Army Command Center in Oslo, telling them to give the order for all troops, except the ones in Denmark, to move from their current bases and positions, to the Lapland Region in the northern reaches of the Empire. The Danish forces were told to hold the city of Aalborg and its surrounding region, and the islands leading to the city of Copenhagen. The purpose of this was to ensure that the ships that were moving to Narvik would still have a passage to move through in the event of the war starting while they were still in the strait. The islands of Bornholm, Gotland, and Aland/Fasta Aland would also have their soldiers remain stationed there, and would act as bases of fire for naval gun batteries positioned on these islands. This would hopefully stall any hostile fleet moving into these sectors.

Another part of the defense plan would be the use of defense-in-depth and asymmetric warfare. One tactic that would be employed was the Motti. One that the Finnish branches of the army developed and practiced with great results. Commanders also realized that DiD could be used in conjunction with Motti, and figured that an invasion force could be stalled for a long period of time. Another tactic thought of was the possibility of making strong defendable positions that were made to be driven past, but would continue fighting on, thus ensuring the enemy would have to use resources to clear out these pockets of resistance. The only issue would now be to deal with the enemy air threat. One idea was that of creating a kill zone with the heavy use of short range radar, rudimentary SAM sites, and Triple-A positions scattered across the mountains and fjords. The commanders in charge of these decisions made the point that they could use a “mouse trap” style of fighting when it came to the air. It would involve a friendly fighter getting into a dogfight with the enemy, which would be difficult due to the CEU’s more advanced avionics and weapons, but if the hostile pilot commits to the fight, the friendly fighter would dive down towards the hidden AA positions and hopefully result in the enemy getting shot down by the AA or as they are dealing with evading the ground positions, be intercepted and killed by their previous prey.

All of these plans were brought forth to King Iogrin, Fuhrer Fredrick Von Eugen, and Head of the SS Rudolf Münch. Each read over the documents provided by the leading commanders, and genuinely approved of the defense plans. The only issue now would be food. Since they would have to give up much of the valued farmland, the defenses would possibly starve to death or be forced to surrender due to lack of supplies. It was decided that as much of the current harvest would be transported up north as quickly as possible. Even still, if the war was to drag on for a very long time, the supplies would eventually run out, and so researchers were told to find the best way to grow crops in the cold north as quickly as they could.

With all of this in mind, the next decision was what to do to get the war to end. What kind of conditions would the CEU want in return for an end of the war? It would be evident that they would want the entirety of the NSDAP to be sent to Germany to face whatever punishment the CEU government had in store for them. Both the King and Fuhrer agreed that this would be impossible to agree to, but there was really no other option but for the Empire to ceed land over to the CEU and perhaps even the CIS if they were to be drawn into the war. So it was decided that in the event of an agreement being made, the Empire would ceed the country of Denmark and the southern regions of Sweden and Norway. If that did not work, then they could only hope that Finland would be the best place of them all to settle down.

After many hours passed, everyone left the room in a very stressed state. All were worried about how the war would pan out, and that they had a very high chance of losing this war. King Iogrin knew that this would also mark the end of the Empire, the last bastion of the old world, of older times. He could only pray for a miracle to happen when the time came.
