They've been engaged in tribal unification wars for years. Our history is somewhat similar to the Mongols during the Khan's time. But now the Viking kingdoms were at "peace" until the merchants started a revolution.
The Battle of Gothenburg
The soldiers under the command of Henrich, who earned the title "The Red Merchant," advanced against the garrison in Gothenburg. The siege began with large trebuchets and arrows to try to weaken the troops. Wanting to prevent the city from being destroyed in the attack, Henrich erected a siege tower to advance during the night while the enemy troops were most exhausted. When the tower arrived, an improvised battering ram echoed at the gates; by this time, some troops from the south had already arrived to assist in the battle.

The Battle of Gothenburg Part II
The castle found itself with its gate destroyed, a siege tower, and the invading troops from the south landed on the land (now what you will do is Grifenresponsibility). After hours of battle, the fort in Gothenburg finally fell. At midday, the troops began to celebrate the victory and conquest of the city. Of the 3,000 who entered the war and began attacking Gothenburg, 201 died, while of those defending the castle, 135 soldiers and civilians, 98 died and 37 were taken prisoner. The kings of the north were perplexed by the quality of the attack; they publicly accused Grifen of attempting to create a friendly state with a leader born in the south. The 10,000 troops began marching south towards Skåne, forming a single unified army, with the objective of conquering Malmö.

Czar Alexandr had reached a decision: It was time to become the Holy Roman Emperor and keep the position for all of his ancestors. The current electors are Czernia, Silesia, Austria, Grifen, Saxony, Bavaria, and Trier.
The sides were for Czernia, which had the support of Czernia itself, Silesia which is Czernia’s vassal, and Bavaria. Austria had itself and Trier, and Grifen had itself and Saxony.
He would need to offer concessions…but to who…Trier. Trier is the answer. It would be relatively easy, since they are the smallest member and therefore would need the least to be convinced…
