The founder ended up CTE'ing (i.e. ceased to exist as they were not active for too long). As you were set to be the first Successor, you're now the Governor of the region. Congrats!
If you don't want to be the current Governor, you resigning makes me Governor as I was the second Successor.

Out of curiosity, is there any particular reason you're shutting down your entire embassy network?

Not raided, just only 2 natives here.
I'm clearing embassies for now as the two of us remaining figure out what kind of region this will end up being. Moving forward, I'd like us to develop an actual regional plan for embassies so we're limiting it to those where there may be future interactions / interregional activity, not merely serve as an embassy collector.
I'm back! Sorry for being REALLY inactive. I was very busy with school!
It's all good. Glad to have you back!
How's the weather?
Good. Jersey weather is decent.
Glad to hear it! We had a rainy morning here, but it's supposed to be clearing up this afternoon.
