Boko Haram

Boko Haram is a terrorist group whose goal is to overthrow the countries they operate in and replace them with a country run by Sharia Law. "Boko Haram" means "Western Education is Forbidden." However, their official name was “Jama‘atu Ahl as-Sunnah li-Da‘awati wal-Jihad” (JASDJ; Group of the Sunni People for the Calling and Jihad). They have existed since the 1990s, however, they significantly increased their power in 2010, by beginning to use female suicide bombers, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDS), and vehicle-borne IED's.

Boko Haram’s capability increased in 2014, with the group conducting near-daily attacks against Christians, security and police forces, the media, schools, politicians, and Muslims perceived as collaborators. Boko Haram continued to raise its international profile in 2015, pledging allegiance to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in March—and publicly using the name “ISIL-West Africa Province” and similar variants—and conducting simultaneous suicide bombings in N’Djamena, Chad, in June—the first such attack in that country’s capital. -Counter Terrorism Guide.

Boko Haram was one of the most disgusting and evil terrorist groups the world has ever seen. Boko Haram is now known as ISWAP, or the "Islamic State of in the West African Province." After international attention and condemnation, a coalition of soldiers was sent to countries in the Sahel to help root out the terrorists. However, in 2022, the leading foreign counterterrorist units in Mali, the french, withdrew from the region. This caused a sharp spike in insurgent activity, which the Wagner Group, who needs no introduction, tried to solve this problem by massacring 300 civilians. (Center of Preventative Action, 2023)

Nine years ago, Boko Haram kidnapped 276 girls from a school in Chibok, Nigeria. 98 girls are still being held in captivity by Boko Haram. Since that kidnapping nine years ago, Boko Haram has continued to kidnap girls from schools, killing them, forcing them into marriage, or committing unspeakable acts to them. Because of these kidnappings, over 600 schools in northern nigeria, where Boko Haram operates, have been forced to close down. (Amnesty International, 2023)

Two other people have made an account on NS by the name of "Boko Haram." I do not know their activity in the regions they participated in, but I pray that they did not use those accounts to celebrate the disgusting acts of Boko Haram, as well as the acts of other insurgence groups in the region.
