I have sort of messed around with my lore for a while with it, but how it works is that my citizens are just regular citizens. Yoshis are a byproduct of a failed Russian experiment in Sakhalin to bring back the dinosaurs, specifically the Therapoda. By the time our country gained independence and gained the island, it had become mostly overrun by the animal. We set up a defensive wall around the middle of the island that was able to contain them to the south, meaning we lost the key city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in the process. Now it is a sort of global research zone called Area-71, where scientists sort of test stuff on these dinosaurs to learn more about the past.

Soviet Yoshilandia
The Democratic Empire of Soviet Yoshilandia, commonly called Soviet Yoshilandia, is a Democratic Communist country in Siberia. It is bordered by Russia in the west, and Stanistan, Mongolia, and China in the south. Soviet Yoshilandia covers 506,276 square kilometers and has an estimated population of 41,197,000. Soviet Yoshilandia comprises 28 regions and 10 overseas territories, including City of kongo, Passeig de Sant Joan, Pneumonoultramicroscopic volcanoconiosis,St vincent and the grenadines, Theredplanet, Trinklandia, United grenada, Yoshilandian antarctic territory, Yoshilandian indonesia, and Yoshilandian tasmania.
Soviet Yoshilandia is the Switzerland of Asia. It is a buffer between China and the United States, where they usually go for negotiations to keep the peace. Soviet Yoshilandia only recognizes countries that the United Nations acknowledges, including the observer states of the State of Palestine and the Holy See. Soviet Yoshilandia is the seventh country with a permanent seat in the Security Council, alongside China, the United States, the Holy Empire of the Last Man Battalion, England, the Russian Federation, and India. Soviet Yoshilandia usually stays neutral about the debates, but tends to favor more with China on issues.
