Statement from the Privy Council
Issued on the 9th Day of December, Anno Domini 1424
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of His Grace, Giano II, Grand Duke of Leória and Portardosa, Serenissima Prćses of the Assemblea. His Grace departed this life peacefully in the night, called to eternal rest by natural means, at the venerable age of sixty-three.
Having ascended to his noble station upon the death of his father on the 18th day of August in the Year of Our Lord 1400, His Grace faithfully governed the Confederacy for twenty-four years, presiding with wisdom, prudence, and devotion to the cause of unity and justice.
By the ancient laws and customs of our land, his eldest son, Prince Fytor, shall inherit the titles and duties of Grand Duke of Leória and Portardosa. Furthermore, as the office of Serenissima Prćses Assemblea stands vacant, an election shall be convened by the Confederal Senate to appoint his successor.
A period of mourning shall be observed across the realm until the 20th of December. The late Grand Duke shall be laid to rest in solemn ceremony at Leória Cathedral, where the faithful may offer their prayers and pay final respects to one who served with such dignity and honor.
May the Almighty grant eternal repose to His Grace's soul and guide our realm in this time of transition.

It is with great grief, the parliament announce the passing of His Majesty, Grand Duke Giano of Leória and Portardosa the previous night. He was an honest lord, and hath done many good for Leória, the Confederation, and Chineva, an honourable man, may he rest in peace and may god's mercy smile upon him.
Chineva shall award him with the "Medal of Virtue and Service" posthumously as recognition of his deeds while on the throne.
