Kurokai-Linked Businessman Faces Questions After Third-Story Window Incident
黒会関係者、三階窓転落事件で再び事情聴取

Kansō — Police in Kansō are once again investigating Kurosawa Kōji, a 48-year-old collections businessman suspected by authorities of maintaining longstanding connections to the Kurokai, after a gambling debtor was thrown from a third-story window during a dispute over an unpaid debt. Matsuda Kenji, 39, reportedly struck an awning before landing among several large potted plants outside the building. He was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover without any long term loss of mobility.

The incident bears similarities to previous altercations involving Kurosawa, who has repeatedly been accused of using physical “enforcement” against clients and debtors. Despite the allegations, Kurosawa has never been convicted of a serious violent offense and remains the registered owner of a successful commercial collections agency. Business associates describe him as a demanding but reliable businessman, while police records show that officers have previously been called to disputes involving his company without resulting in major criminal charges. When questioned after the latest incident, Kurosawa reportedly produced a folder of contracts, collection notices, and other documents before stating that Matsuda’s injuries resulted from “self-defense.”

Investigators are now reviewing security footage and the paperwork supplied by Kurosawa. Legal experts said that ownership of a legitimate collections company does not grant a private citizen authority to use violence in debt recovery, although prosecutors must establish the circumstances of the confrontation before bringing charges. Kurosawa was released pending further investigation. A police official declined to comment on whether investigators expect the businessman to face charges, saying only that “the circumstances of the incident remain under review.” Local observers noted that Kurosawa has previously emerged from similar investigations without conviction.

Prince Masato Seen Street Racing in Hot-Pink Skyline
皇子マサト、ホットピンクのスカイラインで公道レースか

Pusaka — Prince Takahashi Nakamura Masato, the 19-year-old third son of Emperor Takahashi Ren, has become the subject of widespread attention after footage appeared to show him participating in an apparent illegal street race in Pusaka. The video shows a bright hot-pink Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 with black wheels racing alongside several other modified vehicles on an industrial road shortly after midnight. The vehicle has been widely identified online as belonging to the Prince, although authorities have not yet confirmed its ownership.

The appearance of the Imperial Family member has renewed concerns surrounding Wansai’s increasingly aggressive performance-car culture. The Hakkutsu’s recent launch, with its claimed 875 horsepower, had already prompted warnings that manufacturers could enter another horsepower race resembling the performance boom of the 1990s. Police and road-safety organizations have expressed concern that increasingly powerful vehicles and growing enthusiasm for modified cars could contribute to a resurgence of illegal street racing.

Authorities in Pusaka said they are reviewing the footage and determining whether an investigation is warranted. The Imperial Household has not issued a statement regarding Prince Masato’s alleged participation. If confirmed, the incident would raise questions over whether members of the Imperial Family are subject to the same traffic and public-safety regulations as other motorists. No charges have been announced.

FAQs

What is Elysion?
Elysion is a collaborative Nation Role Play community that sits within the wider NationStates ecosystem. Players can pretend to run an imaginary nation on a fictional earth-like world named Elysion, interacting with other players, completing projects, working together or competing and going to war.

Who are the players?
The player base fluctuates as people come and go. There are ‘upstream’, progenitor nations that are non-human player controlled (NPC) to allow human players to claim heritage/history from these progenitors:

  • Sini: A far eastern ancient society that gave rise to a Chinese/Japanese type culture which includes a Chinese writing system, Confucianism, and Buddhist religions.

  • Iberi: A country similar to Spain/Portugal which explored the world and colonised early, but lost its empire in the 1760s. Iberi is the seat of the Holy Father, the head of the Christian Church.

  • Angland: A European country similar to England/Britain which industrialised first and built a great global empire, losing it in the 1900s.

What happened?
An Earth-like history took place:

  • >500 CE: Great classical empires that have long since fallen.

  • From 1500 CE: An era of colonisation and discovery led by Sini, Iberi, and Angland.

  • 1755–1765: The first period of global war which led to revolutions and the dominance of a few imperial powers.

  • 1935–1945: A second period of war which subsumed the world in ideological and civil wars, and struggles for national independence which led to the fall of the Angland and other empires.

  • 1945–Today: A post-war era which brought about decolonisation and a blossoming of new nations.

Where can I claim?
You can claim any land that is not already claimed (see map) and isn’t an NPC nation. You need to decide:

  • Culture: What your broad culture is going to be, it can be entirely fictional or based on a real world one. It will also depend on if you have chosen an old world or new world starting location. Were you colonised? Are your people indigenous or settlers? If old world, what broad ethnicity are they?

  • Stats: What your population and GDP will be. You should think about a real-life nation which is comparable in population, GDP, and development level when calculating this.

Can I be a superpower?
Not at first. You will need to spend some time in the region proving you can work collaboratively with the other players. The world only has space for 2-3 superpowers. These need to be designed with care and on a case-by-case basis.

What sort of nation can I be?
We have chosen a fictional world because we want to encourage interesting ideas and thinking. For example: corporatist nations, or soviet state capitalism that survived to this day…

When is Elysion set, and how does time pass?
Elysion is set in the present day. The date is today’s date. However, to expedite projects, conflicts, and general roleplay, each real-life day represents one week of in-game time passing.

Rules

1. Site Rules
Discussion and Roleplay must conform to nationstates.net rules.

2. Rules of Engagement (War)
If two nations wish to go to war, they must:

  • Ensure all parties agree to it.

  • Agree on a broad outline of what happens (e.g., how many die on each side, if territory is exchanged) and send this to the moderators.

  • Agree to a limit of posts per day (the default is one).

3. Technology
Roleplay must reflect modern-day technology that is applicable to your nation.

  • Fictional technology is allowed, but it must have a working real-world equivalent. For example, you can call a jet anything you like, but you should specify if it’s the equivalent of an F-16 or a Eurofighter, etc.

  • Your nation should realistically be capable of developing or producing it.

  • Civil nuclear energy and medicine exist. Nuclear weapons are known about in theory, but do not exist in-world.

4. Economics & Population
Keep economic and population growth reasonable.

  • Rich developed nations will generally have slower growth than poorer emerging nations (e.g., <3% per year).

  • Isolationist nations should have slower growth than trading nations, etc.

  • Population growth should be reasonable, unless you can justify mass immigration, at 1–2% per year for developed nations and 2–3% per year for poorer nations.

  • There is a 'hard-cap' on GDP for new nations set at $5tn USD until such as time as the region collectively decides to remove it.

5. 'God Modding'
No god-modding e.g:

  • Controlling Someone Else's Actions: Writing what another player's character feels, says, or does.

Example: "My nation launches a missile, and your capital city is instantly destroyed, killing your president." (A fair post would stop at launching the missile, letting the other player decide how their defenses react).

  • The "Invincible" Character/Nation: Refusing to let your character ever take damage, lose a battle, or make a mistake.

Example: A tiny, developing nation magically deflecting an attack from a major superpower with zero losses or explanation.

  • God-like Knowledge (Metagaming): Having your character know information that you read out-of-character on Discord or the forums, but that your character couldn't possibly know in-game.

Example: Your nation suddenly intercepts a secret underground bunker meeting because you read the other player's private planning thread.

Debate on remarks of the Archbishop of Londinium
~ House of Commons, Parliament

Sir Gerald Young MP (Speaker): "Order, order. The next item of business is an Urgent Question in the name of the Leader of the Opposition. Mr Lynton, go ahead."

Charles Lynton MP (Labour, Leader of the Opposition): "Thank you Mister Speaker. Last week, the Archbishop of Londinium and Primate of the Established Church made some - in my own humble view - abhorrent remarks relating to women and gays. Not only are they shockingly paleoconservative, they also fall right on the border of what linguists, lawyers, and economists may well call 'terminological inexactitudes'. In response thereto, several ministers in Cabinet released a statement in which they call the archbishop to 'reconsider' these remarks. The Prime Minister did not sign that letter, which is shocking. My question is therefore: does the Prime Minister agree with the remarks made by Archbishop Burgher?"

Sir Gerald Young MP: "Prime Minister."

Arthur Avalon MP (Conservatives, Prime Minister): "Mister Speaker. To be as frank as I could be, I say to the honourable gentleman opposite: no! I do not agree with these particular remarks made by the most reverend archbishop. Women are the backbone of our society in many, many ways and there should be no reason whatsoever for them not to pursue any college degree or full time job - including an ecclesiastical one - if that is their wish, just like any man would. And insofar as it concerns what two consenting adults do in the bedroom: that is none of my business and it never will be.

Mister Speaker, the reason I did not sign the letter penned by my right honourable friend the Cultural Affairs Secretary (Aaron Langton MP), is quite simple. I was in a confidential meeting at the time of its release. I cannot disclose what that discussion was about in public, but I will say that prior to that meeting I had heard the general idea of the Cultural Affairs Secretary's letter and verbally agreed with him, specifically allowing him to publish it as soon as possible.

Mister Speaker, I want to make one more remark if I may. As a liberal conservative, I think we - as Anglandians in general, but as politicians in particular - should be very cautious when we run comments on the ideas and views of others. They have the freedom to form, hold, and express their own opinions, even if, no, especially when, they are not in alignment with our own. The same applies in this case. The primate cannot be made to be an exception to this rule. That would inevitably lead to a thought police and a totalitarian regime, which I cannot in good consciousness allow."

Charles Lynton MP: "Does the Prime Minister regret his nomination of Dr Burgher already?"

Arthur Avalon MP: "As a practising member of the Established Church myself, I do not. I picked one of the names that was provided to me by the College of Canons and forwarded it to His Majesty, as every Prime Minister before me has done. I recognise that the primate has an extraordinary position within our system of society, and will advise him to use it wisely. Amen."

With that, the debate continued for the better part of another hour, though the heat was taken out a bit.
