I was very sad and frightened to get a discord notification late at night saying - "BREAKING NEWS: Trump has fired missiles at Damascus" - and then seeing the Russian Embassy's warning. Syria right now is several factions all trying to kill each other and I honestly have no idea what to do about it.
Turkey, however.... On one hand they want to be a part of Europe, but on the other hand, Erdogan refuses to respect human rights. The Kurds are a distinct nationality yet they have been split among 4 nation-states for decades. Seems only right that they should get at least some level of autonomy, but what Erdogan is doing.... Sending in the military to subdue them, then portraying them as enemy combatants on state TV. Erdogan - let's be clear - is not a good person. I'd say the primary difference between Syria and Turkey is that Turkey has the resources to destroy any threat to their regime.

Oh god, that feels like so long ago. Well, since almost starting WWIII in Syria 2 years again, he has almost started WWIII in Iran. So, in other words, same old same old. Sad lol
