The Holy Empire of Maconc is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Prince Macono Everton Domingues with an even hand, and remarkable for its zero percent divorce rate, compulsory military service, and frequent executions. The hard-nosed, hard-working, devout population of 1.116 billion Maconcians are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The relatively small, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Welfare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Yong. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 12.9%.

The thriving Maconcian economy, worth 96.1 trillion Moc Mocs a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Information Technology. Average income is 86,097 Moc Mocs, with the richest citizens earning 6.2 times as much as the poorest.

Commercial jingles are the nation's greatest export, exported livestock are wined and dined before they are flat ironed, motorcycle riders are required to wear so much gear they've been nicknamed "Stay Pufts", and it's normal to start working life with crippling financial debt. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, despite the fact that it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many laws. Maconc's national animal is the Macaco, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Maconc is ranked 237,360^th in the world and 438^th in Starlight for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring 41.43 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
