obviously we don’t know it’s behavior but assuming it acts like a crocodile, it would completely useless because of the sheer size of its tail, its useless human-shaped hands, and the head

if it were to act like a human, it would still be useless, because of its feet and center of mass.

any behavioral combination of human and crocodile would still result in a useless and cursed creature

all in all, abomination.

I'm just trying to figure out how the Hell this thing lives. What does it eat? Does it have to rely on tools to kill? Does it chew? Why the Hell would it abandon the crocodilian hunting style?

And if it hunts and eats lile a Crocodile, why the hell is it's skull oriented like that? Why does it have opposable thumbs?

Good thing I never describe what any of the 4% of TS look like.

Basically, there are so many different kinds of 'creatures' that make up the 4%, that in retrospect, I can't really document it.

As well as its, they aren't allowed outside of Terrabis-Seran, and also aren't allowed to fight, so that's a thing.

Most likely a kraken, a dragon, or a unicorn.

this is a common critique but flying dragons are stupid

i’m just going to ignore how this thing could evolutionarily exist, because there is no way it could just evolve into this...

otherwise, i think it’s only weapons are its unwieldy tail (impossible to use anyway because it can’t stand), and it’s teeth (ditto)

Before I do, tell me. Which of these predictions is true:

Kampf Empire wrote:Not to mention, given that this is supposed to be a humanoid sized individual with a scorpion tail, the tail will be rather useless. The tail will either be heavy, rigid, and unwieldy due to the size and weight of the exoskeleton, or it will be viable and fast at the cost of both exoskeletal strength and coverage, meaning it can more easily be disabled.

Also, venom is a produced substance, which requires caloric intake that would most likely be sacrificed in order to maintain homeostasis of vital organ systems. Meaning if the tail can't be dealt with, keeping it's owner restrained and a in state of extended non-lethal starvation means that venom would become a finite, and harvestable resource that would eventually run out and leave the stinger as an over-glorified dagger.

In the situation that the tail is scorpion like in that it possess a stinger capable of delivering venom, but has an endoskeleton and a muscular system to match, than that means it can most likely be broken, damaged, and removed in a similar manner to any limb.

there are sooooo many possible targets for nonhuman critiquing

Shavara wrote:Mathaliin: Very much 'human' features like smooth skin of any color, round pupils with white eyes, "normal" coherent speech, human voice and very human behavior. It's feline features being small cat ears, thin whiskers (sometimes very short), a cat tail and a not-very-intimidating hiss. While in combat, just like humans, they would prefer using handheld weapons such as a stick, sword, axe and even a rifle.

Mathalnam: Human features include parts of non-hairy skin, obvious legs and arms, "human" face, would need a lot of practice with coherent speech and "aggressive" human voice. Feline features being large cat ears, fur color in their head hairs (but doesn't have fur all over), sharp fangs, vertical pupils, large whiskers, long cat tail, vicious claws in hands and a louder more intimidating hiss. While in combat, they would most likely tackle their target and use their claws or fists, but if weak, would still use weapons.

The Mathaliin are a lot more common than their Mathalnam cousins.

Now, before any real critique, I have to ask how this is physically possible. A primate with feline characteristics seems incredibly unlikely due to primates filling a completely different niche in the environment.

The Mathaliin seem, plausible. I can see how the tail could possible help in balance, however it runs into the problem of size. A long tail or too wide a tail will be more of a detriment than an aid, and could potential serve as little more than an additional way to damage the CNS. The hiss and whiskers are entirely within the realm of possibility however.

The Mathalnam seems, very unlikely. The organism would most likely be forced to lead a carnivorous lifestyle, putting it at a disadvantage compared to other primates, but it also has me questioning why there are hairless patches of skin?

Fur is meant to protect organisms from certain elements of the environment or act as camouflage, so it makes little sense to me why they would have fur like a big cat, but still have "human" patches. And if these have retractable claws like most felines, the hands would be so far from humanoid that O don't see how they'd be able to wield a tool. It also doesn't make sense only they're hands to be designed like this, as it feels like you're implying these things have human-like feet.

Hello everybody. If you're still alive, look up high, in the sky, where there's nukes that are about to dive, in your eyes, telling you "bye," then your people die.

The Horsemen were first winning, destroying multiple large factions until pretty much everyone ganged up on them. Now it's a friendly competition between Ba Sing Se and Augustin Alliance, and when I say "friendly" I mean technically being allied with each other, nuking other factions to beat the other.

I also made a mistake last time, it's Strategic Specialists, not Defense Specialists! Also, if you want to keep track of N-day News, check out Valentine Z's dispatch here!

N-DAY5 PREDICTIONS:

It's extremely hard to predict a winner, but NS News predicts that either Ba Sing Se or Augustin Alliance will carry 1st place, and the other 2nd, as it is as of now TOO EARLY TO CALL. 3rd place will likely be An Alliance of Potatoes.

Now aside from N-day, New Visayan Islands has joined the venerated ranks of the moderators. After joining, NVI has already been on quite a lot of cases. (The URL better work.)

In terms of "other news," Kavagrad has become delegate of The Leftist Assembly, Dr pepper enthusiasts has become delegate of the biggest class region I have personally ever seen, Benigtopia, and "Gonadezian world assembly ambassador" has become delegate of The Democratic Republic.

The Layem Times has now come out with a new edition, and the Conch Times came out with a new edition too! TGW was back on "it" again, and the SPINN has published it's 8th edition! The featured region today was North Europe Germany! Congratulations!

(Yes, the color change in NS News was done purposely for N-day.)

OPINIONS:

Is "NS Summer" finally over?

By La Xinga

/notamod

To take your mind off of N-day................

Lately there has been an increase in "bad behavior" on the NS forums. This is usual: Bad Behavior usually upticks in the summer. But here's the question: Is it finally over?

In order to answer this, we need to look at reports. The thread we need to look at mostly is this thread. (DO NOT POST UNLESS REPORTING.)

Now on September 10 it seemed to be a mess, Sep. 11 too. After sometime it begins to cool.

In terms of general reports, Sep. 10 and Sep. 11 seem to spike AGAIN, and then it just, well, stays the same.

Now New Visayan Islands became a moderator because "The team were running short following the recent promotions, and Jakker hasn't been able to keep up with the demands for danishes." But I think it's also possible that NVI was appointed to the Rank of Forum Mod due to NS Summer, just like on the last day of August three Forum Mods were promoted to Game Moderator.

So, is NS Summer finally over? Well, it definitely went down, but it's also definitely still rampant.

If you found a mistake, inaccuracy, or error, tg La Xinga immediately!

I mean, Alcatuses, even though they are omnivores, do have a more carnivorous diet. Are they more plausible than the Crocodillians tho?

<inserts a quarter in the Zoology machine>

The Malevir (pl. Malevirs) is a forest monster with the upper body of a near-human and the lower body of a monstrous snake. Malevirs have twelve long arms for grabbing their prey, spread evenly along the seven meter torso, with long claws at the end for tearing apart meat, and their mouths have six rows of teeth for further grinding their food. Malevirs have hair that reaches from the top of its head to the point of fusion with the snake part. The lower half of the body is covered in scales that protrude hooked, poisonous spikes. This eleven meter long snake tail ends in a poisonous scorpion barb. Malevirs are few and far between, and only three or four Malevirs are ever seen in the same forest. Malevir hunt large creatures, sometimes even preying upon even centaurs and minotaurs. Looking into the eyes of a Malevir shows you your greatest fear, and making eye contact for more than ten seconds can be fatal, as the fear slows you and your perception of the world is altered. Malevirs are very territorial, and will fight other Malevirs or similarly-powerful creatures if they encroach on their territory. Despite this, it is theorized that the Malevirs have a queen, since there only seem to be male Malevirs and Malevir eggs. Malevir skin is extremely durable, and their scales even more so. Their weak point seems to be their eyes, if you shoot that they are weakened and disoriented. Additionally, if you get them to ingest poison that is not natural Malevir toxins, they can die.

The Sicarius (pl. Sicarii) is the transformed soul of a murderer who has pledged allegiance to a demon, in life or in death, and who had been killed by another murderer. Sicarii appear as tall humans, usually eight to twelve feet tall, with bat wings and a head that is a cross between a goat and a ram, without hair or skin. This appearance brands them as an evil, twisted manifestation of an irredeemable soul, and places a target on their heads. Sicarii have the power to breath a deadly fusion of poisonous gas and fire, and they give off an aura that prevents shapeshifters and werecreatures from shifting and induces fear in the most courageous of humans, making them easy prey, however these powers are stripped away when the Sicarius goes near a person who has devoted their life to making the world a better place and has done enough good deeds to outweigh the Sicarius's bad deeds in life. As punishment for their sins, Sicarii are doomed to walk the earth on which they died, being hunted for eternity by vigilantes, monster hunters, and other heroes. Sicarii still manage to serve their demon in a variety of ways, but they mostly use their powers to hunt down and kill any bad person that has managed to piss off the Sicarius's master. Once a Sicarius is killed again, they are tortured eternally by the very demon they served in their afterlife, an insult to everything the Sicarius stood for.

The Tempestan (pl. Tempestans) is a lightning spirit manifested as a baboon with blue eyes and a blue face instead of red. Tempestans are made when a baboon is struck by lightning. Tempestans have the power to fly during storms and redirect electric energy. They are the ones that decide where lightning strikes, and they can also shoot electricity out of their paws if they wish to, even if there isn't a storm. When submerged in water, they cannot use their powers, since the lightning would shock them, too, and any attempt to redirect the energy once more would just result in it rebounding again and again in an infinite loop until they die from lack of oxygen.

The Slapuka (pl. Slapukas) is a worm-like creature with four eyes and an exoskeleton as hard as diamonds. It is a naturally occurring beast, lurking in swamps and dense forests. Its head and two legs are reminiscent of the front half of a horse, including a black mane. Slapukas have the strength to knock down entire trees. Due to their large size, they are ambush hunters, and often encircle large prey to prevent escape. Slapukas are typically around fifty meters long, and they are capable of swallowing a human whole. Its hide is not impenetrable, but it is a highly perceptive creature and couples this with hiding in order to keep itself safe from potential monster hunters.
