My boyfriend and I were watching the new 'Frankenstein' on Netflix, and were chatting about Mary Shelley and the lore about how she came to write one of the most iconic gothic/horror stories in the genre, and arguably one of first works of the science-fiction genre.
(Tldr; Mary Shelley, her husband Percy Bysshe Shelley, and mutual friend Lord Byron were inspired by a dare to write ghost stories, and Mary would go on to publish hers as the work we're familiar with.)
We decided that we would try writing ghost stories for each other to read, sometime before Halloween. (I welcome anyone interested to drop an original short story, in my inbox if they wish, I love a good read.)

Hello REichmiller, I’m not a horror fan. My partner is. He’ll watch a horror series on his own if I go to bed early.
I wrote a couple of romantic dialogues and posted them here about six years ago. They went largely unnoticed and linger in my Factbook.
Do you remember Red Nation Military? He used to send me stories. I’d read and comment, trying to be friendly but he was a right wing disrupter who got banned from Gay Equality at least twice.
Dancing Dragons used to write brief stories on the message board in Nudist Dreamland. Also in that region people used to collaborate on stories. Whoever got to the message board next would take up the story. That worked when there were lots of people active in the region but I remember writing the last one of that type largely on my own and it was a dud. 🙂
I definitely remember Red Nation Military and the trolling, he and I became great friends off-site, we were texting just last week.

My boyfriend is much the same, huge horror movie junkie; me not so much, I prefer classic horror or Stephen King horror over the more modern twists.
It seems like one person in a relationship is always a horror fan, and the other isn't. Lol
The hubby and I mostly play games together. He has recently gotten into Rimworld and wanted me to play it. It is sadly solo but we play along side each other. Last month it was Ready or Not.
When we first started dating, we used to watch horror movies in bed. But both of aren't big horror fans. In my husband's word he likes to be a bum.
