The People's Federation of Fuchsheim is a colossal, genial nation, ruled by Head Council with an even hand, and renowned for its compulsory military service, punitive income tax rates, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate population of 3.224 billion Fuchsheimians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 85.8%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The thriving Fuchsheimi economy, worth 334 trillion Marks a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is led by the Trout Farming industry, with major contributions from Beef-Based Agriculture, Information Technology, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is an impressive 103,699 Marks, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

One-man canoes fitted with the latest tracking technology leave no room for one man, back-alley circumcision clinics are popping up all over the nation, tax-payers are funding ever more extravagant movie projects, and police officers that upset their bosses get assigned to 24 hour stakeouts of bike sheds. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Fuchsheim's national animal is the Fox, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Fuchsheim is ranked 272,535^th in the world and 328^th in The Leftist Assembly for Largest Black Market, with 92.0 billion Standard Monetary Units.
